Apartment Review
Absolutely Terrible
Review Date: 8/3/2010 Reviewer: Anonymous
Safety: Half the time the gate does not close, and even if it does 4 cars can sneak through before the gate even thinks about shutting. Then, when paving the parking lot the gates were open overnight and that same weekend my car was robbed. Parking: There are plenty of parking 'spots' but the spaces are abnormally small so most people just take up two spots. They are so close together one of my neighbors hit my car IN THE PARKING lot because she was parked too close next to me and could get out of the space. Appearance: The place looks wonderful, but there are holes cut in the ceiling above the opaque tile that you don't notice until one day you are cooking and see a big black gap right above your head. Office Staff: When I could actually find someone, they only referred me to the individual that was assigned to my account. I asked them to hold the security deposit check when I first moved in, that was no problem was what I was told. Not only was the check cashed before the date I asked, they sent it back so I was charged multiple overdraft fees because they repeatedly sent the check to the bank for payment. Maintenance: I never had issues where I chose to call maintenance, however, a few days after I moved in, without any work orders in for anything to be fixed, I returned to my apartment from work to find Work Boot prints throughout the shower and someone had been standing on the toilet as well. When I asked the front office if the maintenance men had been in the apartment they said no. I replied that someone had been and if they could please check to make sure, I received no response. It didn't really seem to bother them that someone was in my apartment without my knowledge and there was no work requested to be done. Condition of Unit: The unit was not too bad, but because the walls are covered with immensely cheap paint it chips when you bump into a wall. Noise Level: Every weekend there seemed to be a block party right next door to me. I sent an email to office staff and nothing seemed to be done about it, I was told that if I wasn't "very Satisfied" that I should come and chat with them about the problem, but the problem with that is no one was ever around when you needed something. Overall Rating: Just to give you an idea of the issues that went on with this place, when I moved out, I was told by the Property Manager that my check would be mailed to me in 7-10 days. After about 2 weeks of not receiving the check I contacted the person in charge of my account who then told me that it is 20 business days, I confirmed my address and waited the last few days of the allotted time. Of course, the check was sent to my emergency contact's house, OUT OF STATE, with no way for me to access it, not to mention the check was only for about HALF of the amount that I had paid for my security deposit. I sent an email and was told they would look into it. The person assigned to my account told me it was a mistake and that the remainder of the cash would be sent to me by the end of the week, this was on a Tuesday. Here we are a week and half later I still have not received the second portion of the check. If you were late on your rent there is a 10% fee tacked on and after an allotted time (I think 3 days) they send you account to their lawyers for non-payment. Funny if they were waiting for their money, there would be huge issues if it were late. But now it's my money and they don't seem to be concerned AT ALL. I sent an email to them letting them know I still haven't received the remaining portion of the check and have yet to receive a response. It's been two days since sending the email. |
